I started working on this a while back and never quite finished it, so finally I took the time to sit down and complete the artwork. I originally wanted to do some sort of T-Shirt rendition of the design, so I went ahead and made a little mockup.
Apart from that, it now serves as my current desktop. The purpose of the piece is to symbolize the causes and effects of the influences around us-hence the title. Hope you all like it. Here are the pics:

Before you go any further, I wanted to make clear that this artwork is not a timely piece. This has no intended reflections of current events in any way. I created this while contemplating an interesting phrase I concocted, “Crush the Rebellion-End the War.” The scene is entirely composed of vectorized images in Illustrator. I then composited each element into the scene to create the scenery surrounding the typographic art. I then grunged it up a bit and used my knowledge of perspective and lighting to properly shade certain areas of the piece to give it depth. Anyways, here are the pics:

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but Starbucks has been putting out some pretty insightful and inspiring quotes on the sides of their coffee cups. This morning I was on my way to work when I suddenly decided to grab a quick cup of joe. After arriving at work, I began to warm my cozy office chair and take the delightful first sip of my sweet morning pick-me-up. Just as the cup was on its way to rest on my lips I noticed an interesting quote that caught me eye. It was quoted from a woman named Anne Morriss. It reads,

I’ve recently completed an Album Art gig for Faith Family Church in Victoria, TX. The process took about 3 months of communication and finalizing layout, copy, photos and design. All photography used in the design was set and shot personally early out in the design process, but without further delay… here are the pics:

Well it’s finally up! I’m glad to be able to get this blog up and running. Been working hard on coding and designing this thing from scratch, and I must say… I’ve learned a lot.
