So this past week I’ve been pretty busy, but on my free time, I was finally able to design my new business cards! Took a bit of critiquing, but after a few days I was satisfied. These will be utilizing a “Spot UV” printing technique on “Silk” laminated paper. I had to properly adjust the brightness and contrast of the documents that I sent ahead of time because the silk slightly darkens and reduces the overall contrast of the image. So a little tweaks here and there should yield a great looking result.

Now the Spot UV technique prints a UV Gloss on designated areas of the card. These areas will be the logos and important information of the card. Everything else will be covered with the silk lamination. I was contemplating using a mixed set of rounded corners for the card, but I decided to do all four edges rounded.

I ended up going with a company called UVCards.com. They had great customer service and answered all my question. I suggest you all check them. They do a variety of different card types. Anyways, everything sounds good on the printer’s side as far as I know. Wish me luck on the end result! I’ll post pics as soon as I get them out of the box!
